To demonstrate that the Takoradi Declaration is intended to deliver tangible and measurable impact, ASK Summit 2027 will launch its first flagship implementation initiative—the proposed Yareyeya Dialysis & Renal Care Clinic in Ghana’s Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal District.
Located in one of Ghana’s most active artisanal mining regions, the proposed facility will provide critical kidney healthcare services to communities disproportionately affected by heavy metal exposure and limited access to specialised renal care. The project has been conceived as a lasting investment in community health and will serve as a model for similar interventions across mining-affected regions of Africa.
The proposed facility includes: A 20-bed inpatient renal care clinic ,A 10-station dialysis unit with a dedicated reverse-osmosis water treatment system, Outpatient consultation and diagnostic services, Laboratory, pharmacy and radiology facilities, Two operating theatres, Dedicated staff accommodation and clinical support services, Resilient infrastructure, including backup power, independent water supply and infection control systems designed to support uninterrupted dialysis care.
The clinic will be presented as the featured project of the ASK Summit Fundraising Gala Dinner, inviting governments, mining companies, philanthropic organisations, development partners and corporate sponsors to invest in a transformative healthcare facility that will provide life-saving renal services while demonstrating the practical impact of the Takoradi Declaration.
